Winter Time again .....

Okay so I haven't updated in a really long time!! Life has just been getting in the way. Since my last blog I have gone back to work, the kids have started full time daycare which they love and Dave, well Dave's still working like a mad man and doing an awesome job!

Christmas was exciting and busy. We had my side of the family at our house this year and served the traditional surf and turf :) Not so traditional but sure was yummy!! Then on the 2nd Dave and I went to Cancun with a bunch of friends and the kids stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa. Thank goodness for Grandma and Grandpa!

Now we are just relaxing and trying to get and stay healthy for a while the kids have both been sick this week and Dave had a nasty cold last week but I think we're on the mend and 2010 is going to be a great year.

SUMMER TIME!!!

It's been a while since I've updated our blog but in my defence, summer is here and in Manitoba it's a short season so you have to make the most of the warm weather! Gracen and Sawyer are loving the great out doors and I have a hard time getting them to come in at all. Gracen's nursery school is over for the year but she still asks everyday if she gets to go to school today. She's so ready to go to "big kid" school but thank goodness for my sake she still has another year before she can go.
Anyway just a little summer update, and a couple of pictures too.
Yay gotta love a little peanut butter picnic in the tree house and of course the rubber boots and sun glasses, good southern Manitoba boy for yay :) LOL

Italy was amazing!

If you even get the chance to go, jump at it! There is so much history and the people are so welcoming. We had the most fantastic time there I would go back in a second.
We got there on Sunday evening, they are 7 hours ahead of us so it was only noon for us but with the long flights and the equally long lay overs we were almost ready to go to bed. The next day we had a tour of Sorrento. It's a very beautiful city with awesome sites and great shopping. It was expensive there though so we limited our souvenirs :)
Tuesday we weren't sure what we were going to do but met some people at breakfast and decided to go over to the Island of Capri together. We had a good time even though it rained a little. They are from BC and were great company, Rob and Dina. The walk down to the marina was so pretty I took way too many pictures. Once on the island we decided to take the city bus up to Anacapri where we toured an old church and found the look out over the bay. Amazing view!!
Wednesday we went on a tour of Rome. That city is definitely something to see!! We could have stayed there a week and I'm sure we still wouldn't have seen it all. We saw the Colosseum and the Roman forum and then they took us to one of the main squares for supper. It kind of reminded my of the Forks because there were a lot of artists and little shoppes.
Thursday we relaxed for a change and just wondered the streets of Sorrento. We sat down at an out door cafe for a break and just to take in the scenery, we ordered Cappuccino that was to die for and visited with a couple the next table over from Australia.
Friday we went to Pompeii the ancient city devastated by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79AD. It was incredible and huge, there is still miles yet uncovered. It was interesting to see how modern they lived even way back then.
Then it was time to head home, and even though we could have stayed we had started really missing the kids and were ready to get home to see them. What a wonderful trip, the sites were amazing and to experience it all we are blessed.

What could be better then the Farm in the spring....

Sunday my sister had us out to "THE FARM" for a wiener roast. Our kids LOVE the farm and have been talking about going to see the baby calves since they started arriving a month ago. We had a blast with a little sledding a lot of eating and some farm fun tossed in there too. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Dad and the kids at the fire.

The fun sledding .....

The not so fun cracking heads ....

The baby calves .....

And the best ride EVER!!! Playing it cool up there on Taylor's knee.

Winter Fun

We were out on the hill a few weeks ago and had a blast! Even Grandma and Grandpa got in on the action. Sawyer my little dare devil loved it so much he'd even go down on his own.
Poor Taylor had the hard job!
Too cute! Kayla and Sawyer.

Goodbye Winnie the Pooh ....

Hello Spiderman!!! Sawyer got a new room this weekend. We had originally thought we would do the Cars theme but recently found out that Sawyer is a huge Spidey fan. We were having a lazy Saturday watching movies a few weeks ago and decided to try out the Spiderman trilogy. Well after Pete gets the bite and turns into "Your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman" Sawyer was hooked. We saw a poster of his new favorite action hero and the theme was decided.
Dave's mom and dad got home from Florida last week and when they came for the weekend we put them to work. Patching the old holes and sanding, getting the room ready to go! Ollie and I also went paint and fabric shopping, the fun part :)
